This listing is for a printable cut out model of one of the Porte Saint Denis, one of the ancient gates that allowed entry into walled Paris.
The original medieval gate no longer exists, destroyed when the walls of Paris came down in the late 17th century. The Porte Saint Denis you can see in Paris today, and the cut out model you will create with this file, is a triumphal arch, built by Louis XIV.
Epinal images were popular in France from the mid 19th century, using wood cuts and bright colours. They originated in the city of Epinal, hence the name.

All images in the shop are reproduced from originals, whether they be letters, papers, manuscripts, books, magazines, encyclopedias or atlases, through careful scanning. There is very little to no retouching made to the images after scanning, so as to retain the lovely, vintage look. Any spots or marks are a condition of the original works.
