Do you long for the romance of the early 1800s? Elegant and colourful Empire line dresses, feathers and flowers in your hair, and entertainment in gorgeously appointed golden salons.

This print is taken from a 1901 fashion catalogue. The fashion house, High Life Tailor, published beautiful works about the history of fashion, as a means to advertise their own stylish designs.

This is the fifth print in the series which tells the story of the romance of a young couple, from falling in love at first sight in the grounds of the château, to marriage and a happy life, and eventually being presented to the Emperor Napoléon and Empress Josephine. It’s a very romantic story.

In this print the mother of the bride has thrown a fabulous party to celebrate the marriage of her daughter, with a ‘1001 nights’ theme.

The prints are produced on museum-quality, thick and durable matte paper.

  • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil (0.26 mm)
  • Paper weight: 5.57 oz/yd² (189 g/m²)

There are 3 options for your lovely print:

(1) Unframed, ready for you to choose your own elegant frame for hanging on your walls;

(2) Black Frame; (3) White Frame.

  • Alder, semi-hardwood .75″ (1.9 cm) thick frame from renewable forests
  • Lightweight
  • Acrylite front protector
  • Hanging hardware included

All prints in the shop are reproduced from the original book, journal, encyclopedia or atlas, through careful and professional scanning. There is very little retouching made to the image after scanning, so as to retain the lovely, vintage look. Any spots or marks are a condition of the original work.
